King Solomon Mines Limited
China based exploration company
King Solomon Mines Limited is exploring for gold, copper and other minerals in Inner Mongolia, China. It has two encouraging copper exploration projects located near the town of Sonid Zuoqi in north-central Inner Mongolia; three gold exploration projects – one in Wengniute district and two earlier stage projects in the Sonid Zuoqi district; and a copper/iron skarn project in the Sonid Zuoqi county but further to the northwest and near the Mongolian border. The high prospectivity of Inner Mongolia exists by virtue of its geological setting astride the Fold Belt. It also takes in a substantial section of the northern edge of the North China Platform, a geological terrane that has accounted for approximately 20% of China’s gold production.
Marmot Ridge
The Marmot Ridge copper project is a new discovery by King Solomon. It consists of a large, copper-anomalous hydrothermal alteration system within a Palaeozoic sequence of basic to intermediate volcanic flows and fragmentals intruded by quartz diorite porphyry stocks and dykes and by later stage felsic dykes.
Wuritu
The Wuritu copper project was acquired from local interests. Attention has been focused on the Malachite Ridge prospect where the presence of strongly copper mineralised rock and soil samples at surface has established an attractive exploration target. Exploration carried out by King Solomon at Malachite Ridge has yielded a 280m long open-ended copper-in-soil geochemical anomaly enclosing scattered outcrops and float of a malachite (copper carbonate)-rich quartz-magnetite-hematite rock.
Bu Dun Hua gold and silver project
The Bu Dun Hua gold and silver project is located in Wengniute Banner north of Chifeng City in central Inner Mongolia. It lies within the NNW trending Yanshanian belt of intrusives and volcanics that elsewhere hosts a number of significant epithermal gold, porphyry copper and skarn copper deposits. The project focus is on a large alteration system enclosing a package of quartz structures.
Sonid North & Sonid South
King Solomon has two regional gold exploration ventures in the Sonid Zuoqi district. The Sonid North and Sonid South tenements (24.8 and 121.9 sq km respectively) adjoin gold projects being explored or developed by other parties.
