Asian Mineral Resources
Emerging nickel producer
Asian Mineral Resources Limited (“AMR”) is an independent, international based exploration and mining company listed on the TSX Venture Exchange, under the symbol “ASN”. Through its 90% ownership of the Ban Phuc Nickel Mines Limited (“BPNML”), AMR is developing Vietnam’s only known nickel deposit which includes a 1.23 million tonne measured and indicated massive sulfide resource in addition to a large disseminated sulphide resource. AMR was granted the Ban Phuc Project Mining Licence in Dec 2007 and was targeting mine production to commence in early 2009.
However, in mid 2008 the Vietnamese Ministry of Finance imposed a 20% export tariff on nickel, which combined with falling nickel and copper prices, made the project no longer viable. It's presently on hold while negotiations continue with the Vietnam government.

Quick Facts
- A Vietnamese exploration team discovered and initially explored Ban Phuc in 1959-1963. Surface and underground investigations entailed 12.5 km of diamond drilling, 3.1 km of adits and crosscuts, 1.0 km of exploration shafts, trenching and over 8,000 assays for nickel and over 4,000 for copper.
- The Ban Phuc Project is a high grade massive sulfide nickel development .
- Feasibility Study completed in November 2005.
- Strong local community and government support for the Project.
- BPNML also has a 97 sq kilometre exploration licence (currently the subject of an extension application) on land immediately adjacent to the Project. Read more about ASN's Exploration.
Project Infrastructure
- Major paved roads & modern bridges
- Hydro-electric power (220 Kva)
- Unlimited process water available
- Navigable water reservoir next to Project
- Easy access to Chinese markets
- Established major rail and ocean ports
- Workforce is educated and increasingly English speaking
